4月15日，加拿大国际贸易部部长戴尔先生 Mr. Stockwell Day在他此次访华的行程安排中，特意在广州设晚宴招待在在广东投资经商的的部分加拿大企业。奥雅公司总经理李方悦女士有幸被邀请参加酒会，公司建筑规划部加籍设计总监Peter Zhong锺先生也参加了此项活动。

戴尔先生接见了公司两位高层，双方进行了亲切友好的交谈。Mr. Day表示，对中国的飞速发展，特别是在当前的全球性经济危机的影响下还能保持现有的发展势头印象深刻。这是戴尔先生第一次访华，他对中国的一切充满兴趣，并表示希望有机会到深圳看看。

他感到中国政府给企业的发展提供了很大的支持，包括政策上的和财务上的。他说在他此次七天访问行程中，他可以感受到中国的企业在通过他们各自的方式在平稳地度过经济危机的难关。他对中加两国之间的国际贸易也充满信心。

晚会上李小姐和锺先生有机与加拿大总领事，和多位在粤经营的企业代表和高层，对扩大和周边公司的合作，发挥加拿大的背景优势有了更多的体会和启发。

L&A invited to attend Reception by Minister of Canadian International Trade

On Apr. 15, Mr. Stockwell Day, the minister of Canadian International Trade, host a dinner reception in Guangzhou to meet with the well-know Canadians firms who have operations in Guangdong. Ms. Fangyue Li was honored to be invited to attend the reception. Design Director of Architecture and Planning Department Mr. Peter Zhong, who is also a Canadian, also attended the function. 

During the meeting, Mr. Day expressed his strong impression with China’s economic development and continued growth, even in the climate of global financial crisis. “I am overwhelmed by what I saw,” he said. He said it was his first time in China, and he would like to see more of China, including Shenzhen during his seven day tour in China. 

Clara and Peter has also met with the Canadian Counselor in Guangzhou and met a number of Canadian enterprises. A few specialize in ecological design and techniques such as soil research. Canada is a country which has put strong emphasis on and advance in environment and ecological techniques. Both Clara and Peter all felt that the company should take advantage of our Canadian background and create a unique niche in the industry.
