蝶湖湾是上海世茂集团在昆山市投资建设的一个大型国际化社区，因其位于中心、面积10万平方米的蝴蝶形生态湖而得名。该项目包括住宅、会所、酒店等多种类型，全方位突显出多功能社区的概念。作为国际化社区，蝶湖湾体现了广泛的适用性，符合国际范围内人的心理需要和行为模式。
在该项目的设计过程中，奥雅采用新的、生态的、环保的、可持续发展的设计概念，从自然界中汲取设计元素，运用现代设计规划手法，融文化、历史、自然、时尚于景观设计中，力求塑造满足不同层次人生活和休闲的国际化和谐生活社区。我们根据生态、环保的原则整理绿系统、水系统、道路系统，把人对于环境的影响降到最低，减少对环境的索取和危害。用自然方式节约能源的同时，景观元素也成为了功能元素，降低了环境对住宅区的影响。目前，蝶湖湾项目已入选联合国“国际生态安全示范社区”。
深入分析整个区域的空间层次和属性，有针对性地创造简洁大气、激动人心的公共空间景观以及充满游憩体验与发现乐趣的私密化空间。对交通系统深入分析和整合，对各种类型的道路进行分类和有针对性的处理，让它们体现各自的性格，形成鲜明的景观特征。按照生态、现代的要求设计整个住区，采用生态方式处理水系统、种植水生植物，采用自循环降低对环境的危害，采用雨水收集系统消化住区自身的雨水量，并在初级处理后将其用于景观补水和景观灌溉。

The Butterfly Bay is a large scale international community in Kunshan, invested and constructed by Shanghai Shimao Group. The name originates from the butterfly shape of a 100,000-square-meter ecological lake which is located in the center of the site. The project is a complex community of multiple functions including residence, club and hotel, etc. The Butterfly Bay is focus on an international community with adaptability, and complies with residents’ needs of inner heart and modes of actions internationally.
L&A Design Group adopted a new, ecological, environmental and sustainable idea that absorbs design elements from the nature and integrates the modern design and planning with culture, history, nature and fashion. It strived for shaping an international harmonious community so that different groups of people could relax and enjoy life within it. According to the principles of ecology and environmental protection, the green system, water system and road system are arranged to minimize people’s impacts on environment and reduce the damages. When adopting the natural energy-saving method, the landscape elements are also the function elements that reduce the impacts of environment on the community. Currently, the project has been selected by United Nations and listed on "International Ecological Safety Demonstration Community".
Through a profound analysis on the space layers and quality, the simple, generous and exciting landscape design for pubic space was proposed, and the playful private space for leisure was created. On the basis of analysis and study, the transport system was integrated with classified categories of roads revealing different characters that form a distinct landscape characteristic. In order to meet the requirements of ecology and modernity, the community's design dealed with water system and aquatic plants based on an ecological method, and the natural circulation was adopted to reduce harm on environment. A rainwater collection system was utilized to absorb rainwater and provide water for landscape and irrigation after initial treatment.
