Vanke Tropical Rainforest in Dongguan
Project Client: Vanke Architecture Research and Development (R&D) Centre
Completion Time: June 2017
Land Area: 6,000㎡
The design of this project draws inspiration from low carbon concept, thus creating a refreshing botanical garden through ecological design for both existing mountains and roads. The design team divides the tropical greenhouse into indoor and outdoor areas. As a rain garden for subtropical native vegetation, the outdoor area displays exquisite garden landscape of south China. The indoor tropical rainforest, on the other hand, highlights its uniqueness through presenting natural phenomena including the buttress roots, the breathtaking "one tree makes a forest" and "strangling" growth habits from many tropical forest species.
