Inspired by Fan Kuan (a Chinese landscape painter of the Song Dynasty)'s best known work Travelers Among Mountains and Streams, the design of Vanke Waterfall Park in Taiyuan well integrates the elements of traditional Chinese aesthetics in natural scenery. The foreground part of this project is designed as a "mundane world", the middle part as a "dense forest" with enjoyable promenades, and the distant part as a "broad universe". The design team created various landscape installations, such as ridges, peaks, valleys, hillocks, caves, docks, mountain foot and stone paths; as well as springs, waterfalls, pools, streams, gullies, ponds, lakes, and rocks, vividly interpreting the landscape in the north of China and combining the site function to make the most significant natural landscape park.
