Wen Zhengheng, an ancient writer and garden designer in the Ming Dynasty, advocated, "The best place to live is between the mountains and rivers, the next is in the villages, and the relatively worse is in the suburbs." The project is located in Yushan Bay, Jiangyin City, Jiangsu Province, which is surrounded by Yushan, Dingshan and Yangtou Mountains. The natural environment is superior in this region, and there are abundant original ecological massif resources. The design goal of the project is to make full use of the surrounding natural resources and geographical advantages to create a desirable leisure-resort style residential community.
Through the thorough analysis of regional planning, architectural style and site conditions, the design team had a deeper understanding of this project. They combined the analytical results with the design concept of modern gardens to create a living environment well-integrated into the nature. In addition, this project took the "Peach Blossom Land" as a template, building a modern natural landscape community near Yushan Lake. People living here could enjoy a natural, elegant and comfortable life, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
At present, the completed exhibition area of this project adopts the traditional Chinese garden landscaping techniques. Designers would like to create a visual experience that the scene changes with movement. The project site is fronting water and with hills at the back. According to traditional Chinese culture, the mountains are the extension of the dragon vein, and the lake is the water vain. In the middle of the project plot, a winding enclosed rockery group is designed to symbolize "mountain dragon", and, a "water dragon" is introduced to the east of the plot. The stability of the mountain dragon and the agility of the water dragon plays well interactions with each other, forming a sharp but interesting visual contrast.
